The objective of the TOEFL® WOW Short Story Writing Competition is to provide a platform for our Malaysian school children ages 12 to 17 years old to submit their original fictional essays written in English with the theme of marine life conservation.
BENEFITS of TOEFL WOW Short Story Writing Competition
This TOEFL® WOW Short Story Writing Competition will provide the following benefits to our Malaysian school children:
a) They will develop reading comprehension skills, research skills and writing skills, all in English
b) They will also develop planning and communication skills when they participate in the online sessions with our editorial team and TOEFL Young Student Series Master Trainers
c) They will be able to demonstrate their creative skills in their fictional essays
d) For the best 50 essays, the children will have their essays published and they will have the pride and joy of having their own work published
e) They will be exposed, made aware and potentially inspired on the importance of marine life conservation
f) Every submission will receive an e-certificate
PARTICIPATION COST
There is no cost for the students to participate in the TOEFL® WOW Short Story Writing Competition.
We are in discussion with our project collaborators and they are helping us to source for sponsors for the publication of the book.
PRIZE
Students
All 50 winning Submissions will receive the printed book “We Ocean Warriors Short Stories” and TOEFL merchandizes.
School
a) 3 Primary schools with the most number of students’ submission will each get TOEFL Junior Standard Test for 60 students.
b) 3 Secondary schools with the most number of students’ submission will each get TOEFL ITP Test for 60 students.
